When your kids don't listen to wise Biblical counsel you'll let them reap the consequences of sinful choices. So too, God is going to give his people, Israel, over to reap the judgment form their sins. He's tried warning them, wooing them, and even now wowing them by speaking through visions, but their hearts are still hard. Judgement will fall on them within the next 20 years and they will be taken off to captivity in Assyria.
On one had we pray for God's mercy in these kind of times. But listen, there does come a point when God says, "Enough." And in those times we must bow the knee in surrender to His will and let God be God over all.
